Jill Nickens maintains a large patient-reported akathisia registry, providing insight into symptom patterns, comorbidities, and clinical trajectories that may inform research questions and study design.

Jill Nickens has over a decade of focused research experience in akathisia. She is the Founder of the Akathisia Alliance for Education and Research, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing awareness, education, and research regarding akathisia across medical disciplines.

Her work centers on improving recognition and diagnostic accuracy in complex cases where akathisia may be under-recognized or misidentified, drawing on patient-reported data, clinical literature, and case analysis.
